The move to convert to natural gas is a big step forward for Manx Gas. Unlike LPG and Towns Gas, natural gas is piped in directly from the UK. By completing the natural gas extension project we hope to give our customers the freedom to purchase a greater variety of gas appliances, instead of only those that can be adjusted to run on LPG or Towns Gas.
The project is well under way with the initial survey stage complete. You can read more about these by selecting from the menu below.
From 27th February the conversion phase of the natural gas project will be underway and the team will be out and about in Ramsey. To see what we'll be doing in your area view our conversion procedures. This will help explain what letters and documents you may receive and what you need to do when you get them. There is plenty of help available should you have any questions, from the FAQs on this website to our Natural Gas Helpline and mobile customer support unit. This blue bus will travel around the Island as work progresses, acting as a drop-in centre for customers wishing to find out more about the process. The unit will also offer a secure key-holding service for the benefit of customers who are working and away from home throughout the day, allowing engineers to carry out the work with minimum inconvenience. The bus will be in Ramsey during this first phase of the conversion so keep an eye out for it (we'll announce daily where we are on Facebook) or give the support team a ring on 01624 644445.
